CinderBay Labradors was a journey that began when we acquired our first Labrador, Cinder, back in 1999.
The name CinderBay is derived from Cinder and the area we lived in for 29 years: The town of Harbor Springs, Michigan - only minutes from Little Traverse Bay. That is where the "bay" comes into the name.
You can read more about Cinder on our Memorial page.
In June of 2015, we relocated to ten acres on the outskirts of the quiet little town of East Jordan in Antrim County. Our land provides acres of wild berries, land to hunt, and room to grow a lot of our food. We tend a small flock of egg-laying chickens on the neighboring property, We help raise our pork and even started raising our meat chickens. We acquired the care of the neighboring barn cat they called Black and we now have two more of our own. Pickles & Cheddar.
On a more personal note, I have been married to my wonderful husband, Blair, since 1999. While he may not always be on board with the number of dogs we have, he has always been supportive of my endeavors. Together we enjoy movies, kayaking, hunting during both rifle and archery season, working on our property and camping.
I also love gardening and every year we make changes and improvements to our vegetable and flower gardens.
But it is the time with my dogs that gives my life purpose and meaning. I could not possibly give back to them what they give to me. Our journeys together have lead to some amazing adventures and lifelong friendships.
